A real flame, designed to be kept under control.

A fire at home comes with requirements.

Here, concretely, is how Hestia was designed to stay safe at every moment.

Lighting

A simple gesture, away from the flame.

Hestia is lit with the included lighter, a thin steel rod. You dip its tip in a small amount of bioethanol, in a separate container, never in the burner. You then light it with a lighter.

All that's left is to bring the lit rod close to the burner, at a safe distance from your hand, to light the flame. A simple gesture that always keeps you away from the hearth.

Extinguishing

Extinguish with a simple gesture.

To extinguish Hestia, the included spatula slides the burner plate over the hearth. Starved of air, the flame goes out within seconds.

The same gesture also lets you adjust the flame's intensity, brighter or softer depending on the mood. And at no point does your hand come near the fire.

Stability

A carefully engineered balance.

Stability comes first. Hestia's base is wide and weighted, its stem reinforced, for a low centre of gravity and perfect balance.

The whole structure withstands everyday minor knocks without wobbling. A fireplace shouldn't just be beautiful — it needs to stay firmly in place.

What a real certification actually checks

To be sold in Europe, an ethanol fireplace must meet the EN 16647 standard. Hestia has been tested and certified by SGS, an independent body. Here, concretely, is what the standard requires.

01

Tested surfaces

Surface temperatures were measured and validated during certification testing. Some parts stay hot during operation and should not be touched while in use. The relevant instructions are detailed in the manual.

02

Cold refilling

The burner should never be refilled while lit or still hot — this is the essential rule with ethanol. You extinguish it, let it cool, then refill. A simple gesture, explained in the manual.

03

A system tested as a whole

Certification doesn't just cover the hearth on its own, but the whole system: the burner, accessories such as the lighter and spatula, and the fuel, tested together as one coherent whole.

04

Proven materials

The materials and the burner must withstand the flame without degrading or releasing harmful substances. The burner's 304 stainless steel meets this requirement.

05

Controlled stability

The standard checks the appliance's tip-over resistance and stability in use. Hestia's wide, weighted base was designed exactly for this.
