Return within 30 days
You have 30 days after receiving your order to return your fireplace to us. The product must be complete, unused, and kept in its original packaging.
To make a return, simply contact our customer service team with your order number and the reason for the return. We'll then send you the appropriate instructions.
Depending on your location and what's most convenient for you, the return can be made via a pickup point or by drop-off at a post office.
Refund
Once your return is received and inspected, the refund is issued within 24 to 48 hours. When it actually appears in your account then depends on your bank's processing times.
Return shipping costs
If you change your mind, return shipping costs are your responsibility. If the product is faulty or there's been an error on our part, we cover everything: shipping as well as replacement or full refund.
Your right of withdrawal
In accordance with regulations applicable to distance selling, you have a legal period of 14 days from receipt of your order to exercise your right of withdrawal, without having to justify your decision.
Maison Fondé voluntarily extends this period to 30 days to give you more time to change your mind.

Controlled lighting and extinguishing
The lighter and spatula are included. The lighter lets you bring the flame to the burner from a safe distance from your hand. The spatula slides the burner plate to extinguish the flame by cutting off air, within seconds, with no need to blow it out.
Good practices
Hestia should be used under supervision, in a ventilated room. Never refill the burner while it's lit or still hot: extinguish it, let it cool, then refill. Keep a one-metre clearance around the flame, with nothing above it. Wipe up any bioethanol spill immediately before lighting.

The right fuel, for a beautiful flame
Use a bioethanol made for fireplaces, at least 95% pure. This is what gives a beautiful orange flame. Low-quality ethanol produces a poor, blue flame. One more important point: when lit, the flame is blue for the first few minutes. Let the burner warm up for about ten minutes, and the flame becomes full, orange, and dancing.
Matte finishes (Black and White)
A soft, dry cloth is enough. For marks, use a slightly damp cloth. Never use abrasive products or solvents.
Chrome finish
The galvanized mirror finish is an exceptional finish that requires care. Clean it with a microfibre cloth and glass cleaner, which restore the mirror shine without leaving streaks. No sponges, no creams, no abrasive products.
The burner
Only clean the burner when it's cold and empty. Never place a cloth or your hand on a fireplace that's still hot; wait until it has fully cooled before handling it.
Protecting your Hestia
If you've chosen our protective cover, always wait until the fireplace is completely cold before covering it. This keeps it looking as good as new between uses.

Good to know
Is bioethanol included?
No, bioethanol is not included. Use a fireplace-grade bioethanol with a minimum purity of 95%, as this is what gives a beautiful orange flame. It's available in supermarkets, hardware stores, and garden centres.
How long does a flame last?
3 to 5 hours per refill, depending on the burner opening. The tank holds 1.5 litres. With a lower flame, the burn time is longer.
How do you light and extinguish it?
Two accessories are included. The lighter is a rod that you dip in ethanol and light, to ignite the flame from a safe distance from your hand. To extinguish it, the spatula slides the burner plate over the flame, which is smothered within seconds, without ever bringing your fingers near the fire. Everything is done by following the manual.
Is it dangerous?
Hestia is certified to EN 16647 by SGS and comes with a 2-year warranty. It should be used under supervision, in a ventilated room, like any open flame. The lighter and spatula keep your hands away from the flame. Never refill the burner while it's lit or hot. Always follow the safety instructions given in the manual. Do not leave unattended around children or pets.
Does the flame give off a smell?
A slight alcohol smell when lighting, which disappears once the flame is established. Our burner is designed for complete combustion. A lingering smell always comes from unsuitable fuel.
Is assembly complicated?
No, and no tools needed. Just a few minutes. A manual is included, with a QR code linking to our assembly video.
How can I know if it will suit my home?
On the product page, click the "See it in your home" button. Your phone then displays Hestia in augmented reality, at true scale, directly in your room. Move it wherever you like and check its proportions and exact look before ordering, as if it were already there.

We were disappointed. So we made our own.
Before Maison Fondé, we were customers just like you.
Drawn in by the idea of a flame with no flue, then disappointed by an object that didn't live up to its promises.
A timid flame, a cheap finish.
We figured we could do better. Two years later, Hestia was born.
